Having won praise a quarter century ago from Gourmet magazine for his restaurant in California, chef/proprietor Felix Roux has come out of retirement to give a taste of Provence to Carrboro. Lucky Carrboro. But even if you live in Raleigh, it's worth the 45-minute drive to savor chef Roux's escargots, smoked salmon terrine and duck leg confit, as well as whatever fresh fish he's cooking that night. Located in a converted bungalow, the atmosphere is French auberge all the way -- romantic, but not at all stuffy.
