Tosca Ristorante Italiano, named after a favorite Italian opera, serves traditional central and southern Italian cuisine in a casually elegant atmosphere. Their vast and diverse wine list is one of the best in The Triangle.
Adjacent to the dining room is an elegantly decorated party room that accommodates 1-75 people. Outdoor dining is also available in the garden area of the newly renovated West Village.

You have to be looking for Tosca to find it, tucked back among the tobacco warehouses which have been converted to the loft apartments of West Village. The rustically romantic dining room, with vintage opera posters between high arched windows in rough brick walls, is worth the search. So is the food, a refreshingly simple take on the Italian repertoire. The antipasto for two, a lavish assortment of imported cold cuts, locally made fresh mozzarella and grilled vegetables, is a winning starter. Follow that with authentic spaghetti carbonara, bistecca alla fiorentina or pollo alla Tosca. Desserts are imported from Italy, and sometimes suffer from jet lag. (Full review)
