Vivian Girls frontwoman Cassie Ramone has teamed up with Woods bassist Kevin Morby and Justin Sullivan, drummer for Brooklyn band Bossy to form the raw energetic band, The Babies.

Though Chapel Hill trio Flesh Wounds consist of three Triangle mainstays—Laura King of The Moaners,  Montgomery Morris of Last Year’s Men and Dan Kinney of The Future Kings of Nowhere—their sound is anything but seasoned. It’s a rush of garage rock aggression and sublimely simple melody, a catchy kick to the teeth that depends far more on an energetic delivery than it does on precise execution.
