Movie theaters showing I Served the King of England near Raleigh,NC:
Serving Soft Porn...
Mr. Francis, in his laudatory review, makes no reference to the extensive, and extended, scenes of female nudity in " I Served the King of England". The film relentlessly lapses into soft porn, to a degree and extent that the movie is dominated by it. Too bad. Women attend films, too, Mr. Francis. Had your review contained some indication of the wet dream quality of the filmmaker's work, I, and other women at the showing I attended, would have stayed away. Memorable, alright. Be forewarned, ladies.

"I Served the King of England" is at once a semi-fantastical encapsulation of Czech history and a Chaplinesque fable of a hapless antihero swept along by fate and selfishly adapting to the whims of power and wealth.
Directed and written by Jirí Menzel and based on a book by famous Czech novelist Bohumil Hrabal, "I Served the King of England" is an award-winning minor masterpiece that harks back to some of the true foreign classics of '70s European and Eastern European cinema. (Full review)
