Raleigh’s biggest and best Easter Egg Hunt will take place at downtown Raleigh’s Moore Square Park in downtown Raleigh on Saturday, April 11, 2009. This is a FREE event, with more than 4,000 eggs for kids to find, as well as music, balloons, inflatables and more to ensure everyone a happy Easter!
Last year’s inaugural event attracted overflow crowds to Moore Square, and Raleigh Easter staff members are prepared for an even bigger response this year.
“So many folks turned out last year that we want to make sure we're prepared to make this year's event even better,” event coordinator Todd Perkins said. “We've got more than 10,000 pieces of candy to give away, along with a few other surprises. We want to do this every year for the city of Raleigh."
The fun begins at 10:30 a.m., and will include four age-based hunts at Raleigh’s Moore Square Park. Attendees should look for the large tent marked “Raleigh Easter” or volunteers wearing Raleigh Easter t-shirts. Parking is available on each border of Moore Square Park. In addition, these parking decks are convenient and within walking distance to Moore Square:
• 125 Hargett St Parking Lot 12 (125 E Hargett St.)
• Wilmington St. Station Deck (use Blount St. Entrance on S Blount St.)
• Moore Square Parking Deck (233 S Wilmington St.)
