New World Coffee House

This north Raleigh coffeehouse/eatery isn't strictly vegetarian, but it's closely related in spirit, with a cozy, world music-filled atmosphere and a menu whose listings are almost exclusively vegetarian or reduced-fat. The house sandwich specialty is the California wrap, with fillings ranging from veggie to grilled chicken salad to Tex-Mex black bean burger. Excellent homemade soups are usually vegan, and may include Spanish corn chowder, Mediterranean spinach, or savory herbed asparagus. Locally baked pastries and coffees from Raleigh roaster Larry's Coffee Beans round out the offering. (Full review)
