John Dee Holeman has been awarded a National Heritage Fellowship by the National Endowment for the Arts and a North Carolina Heritage Award by the NC Arts Council. Holeman uses both the Piedmont and Texas guitar styles in his playing, and he currently works with the Hillsborough-based Music Maker Relief Foundation, which released his album You Got To Lose, You Can’t Win All The Time in 2008.
