Science Cafe: Ignorance: How It Drives Science

The first talk, entitled “Ignorance,” will be held on Thursday, Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. and will be led by Stuart Firestein, Ph.D., chairman of the department of biological sciences at Columbia University. He will discuss his recently released book “Ignorance: How it Drives Science,” in which he evaluates the idea that pursuing research based on what we do not know is more valuable than building on our present knowledge of the world.
