Excellent review. Excellent experience (for the most part).
I have been to The Oxford several times as well as hosted a large party for several friends there. This review is spot on and well written -- The food, the spirits and the atmosphere are top-notch; the service isn't. Overall, it is a great experience!
To the management of The Oxford: Your lackluster wait staff and their sloppy uniforms are not on par with the rest of the establishment. Tighten up in that area and you will really be an exceptional downtown hot spot!

Great for World Cup
We had a blast watching some of the World Cup games here. Even came back for late night on a Friday and it cool. Had a band!

Don't be alarmed when you open the menu at The Oxford and see shepherd's pie listed at 13 British pounds (about $19 at current exchange rates) and a burger going for nine pounds ($13). The pound sterling symbols printed next to the prices are merely a tongue-in-cheek nod to The Oxford's English pub heritage. The actual prices are in fact good old American dollars, and they're in line with the prices at other pubs in the area.
