One of my favorites
I love this place. A great dining room - spacious and attractive. The wait staff rarely misses a trick. The food is always first rate. The affordability factor does make this more impressive. I am in the construction business, and was told that it it easy to build the best home when you have an unlimited budget, but to put a great home together on a modest budget is a sign of real creativity. At Seaboard, I don't really go there for the price, because the overall experience eclipses that. It is all about the food, and a nice evening out.

Raleigh native Jason Smith worked in some of the East Coast's most celebrated restaurants, from Durham's Magnolia Grill to New York's Gramercy Tavern, before returning home to open his own restaurant, 18 Seaboard. Nobody would have blamed him if he had followed the path of other rising star chefs, creating a money-is-no-object menu to show off his gourmet cooking skills.
