Pink hearts, orange stars, yellow moons, green clovers - for all we knew, those little pastel marshmallow bits in a box of Lucky Charms were typical Irish cuisine. Most of us who grew up before the current decade had limited knowledge of ethnic cuisines. Pizza and spaghetti were Italian, we knew, and egg rolls were Chinese, but we didn't know much more. Irish? A few of us could have mentioned corned beef and cabbage, but that's about all we could have told you. It was something we just didn't eat.
