Venue Review: Serendipity Gourmet Deli

Information
Greg Cox reviews Serendipity Gourmet Deli

Housed in a converted bungalow in the heart of downtown Cary, this quaint little eatery has been a town landmark for over two decades. The shady patio's a local favorite, too, wedged between the restaurant and the florist next door. The kitchen serves up homemade soups, salads and sandwiches, ranging from the usual (Reuben, egg salad, BLT, grilled cheese) to the eye-opening (Mideastern Mystery, with a spiced bean and cheese mixture, lettuce, tomato and sour cream in a pita pocket). Evenings bring on a couple of specials: one vegetarian and one meat (like Mexican lasagna).
