The sign on the wall at Francesca's says, "Life is uncertain. Eat dessert first." Better yet, why not make an entire meal of desserts? For an appetizer, select from a couple dozen pastries, all made in house: perhaps a simple cookie or scone for a light starter, or a carob bar if you're really health-conscious; heartier appetites may prefer a the coconut and chocolate richness of German chocolate pie or the spicy moistness of carrot cake. Choose an entree from Francesca's homemade ice creams: a rotating list of eighteen flavors, including the likes of rum raisin, Mandarin orange, cinnamon chip, and lemon, pear, pineapple or jasmine tea sorbetto. For dessert? Go back for seconds.
