Venue Review: Bandido's Mexican Cafe
Tony and Maria Sustaita opened the original Bandido's down a flight of steps off Franklin Street in Chapel Hill, and folks had no trouble finding it. The eatery proved so popular, in fact, that two more have opened in the handful of years since. With a reasonably priced Mexican and Tex-Mex menu specializing in shredded beef and vegetarian dishes, it's easy to understand their success. Try a trio of crispy taquitos, or a hefty burrito supreme, stuffed with shredded beef and topped with salsa, sour cream and guacamole, or cheese-filled chiles poblanos topped with salsa verde. Update: In addition to the original Chapel Hill Bandido's, there are now locations in Durham, Carrboro and Hillsborough.
